Job summary

Langan is seeking an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer to join its collaborative team in Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH. The role involves transportation planning studies, traffic engineering analysis, and roadway/traffic signal design, with opportunities to contribute to land development and infrastructure projects.

You will assist with planning, design, and permitting, perform traffic analyses, and use tools like SYNCHRO and HCS while developing skills in a cross-disciplinary learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 0–2 years of work-related experience.
• EIT certification or FE exam registration preferred.
• Proficiency in HCS, SYNCHRO and MUTCD a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or SoftDesk civil software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, design and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering, land development and infrastructure projects;
• Complete traffic analysis for traffic impact studies;
• Use engineering equipment and design software (SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.) to prepare engineering and design documents;
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;
• Write and/or review draft reports including traffic impact studies and parking studies; and
• Perform other duties as requested.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist with the planning, design and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering, land development and infrastructure projects in a cross-disciplinary learning environment.

• Assist with the planning, design and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering, land development and infrastructure projects;
• Complete traffic analysis for traffic impact studies;
• Use engineering equipment and design software (SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.) to prepare engineering and design documents;
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;
• Write and/or review draft reports including traffic impact studies and parking studies; and
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
• 0-2 years of work-related experience;
• EIT certification, or current registration for FE exam preferred;
• Prior related internship or professional experience;
• Proficiency in HCS, SYNCHRO and the MUTCD;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or SoftDesk civil software;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing.
