Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Traffic Engineer to conduct traffic studies and analysis in Columbia, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and have up to 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include data collection, developing solutions for traffic deficiencies, and preparing reports. This position requires proficiency in traffic analysis software and strong technical writing skills.
Work conditions are mostly office-based with occasional field work. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
Responsible for engineering traffic studies using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.
Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25lbs) may be required as needed.
