Job summary

Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. is seeking a Terminal Operator I for our Greensboro, NC facility. This entry-level, safety-sensitive role focuses on general terminal functions and reports to the Terminal Manager.

You will work with a team to learn and perform tasks efficiently, with emphasis on safety and reliability. The ideal candidate will have basic computer skills, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and PC knowledge.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (where applicable).
• Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods on concrete floors and outside surfaces.
• Able to work outside in varying weather conditions, varying cold, hot & humid temperatures.
• Manual dexterity; ability to reach; able to bend and move with agility.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all Safety requirements and procedures.
• Able to work independently (self-driven), as well as a Team Player.
• Maintain customer, supplier and Company confidentiality.
• Maintain regular hours by being present, on-time and producing professional, error-free work.
• Receive and hook up rail cars.
• Connect steam and unloading hoses.
• Collect and record tank temperatures and measurements. Record information appropriately.
• Have a working knowledge of and successfully operate Order Weigh system.
• Perform routine yard maintenance.
• Assist with maintenance of equipment.
• Pull product samples upon request.
• Adhere to all (DOT) and (OSHA) requirements.
• Maintain excellent attendance and timeliness.
• Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Other duties as required by Terminal Manager.
