Roux Consulting is seeking an Environmental Technician to perform field tasks at project sites, including remediation system operation and construction oversight. Most sites are in Midland, TX, with occasional travel to Hobbs, NM. The role requires teamwork and the ability to work outdoors year-round.

You will support environmental compliance, collect samples, monitor system performance, and supervise subcontractors. Training is provided for certifications; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Preferred: OSHA 40 HAZWOPER Certification and 8-Hour Refresher.

Job Description

Roux is seeking a responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Environmental Technician to perform field tasks associated with our project sites, including the operation and maintenance of remediation systems and construction oversight. Field sites may vary but the majority of sites are located in the Midland Texas and/or Hobbs, New Mexico area with occasional overnight travel to other sites in Texas. Candidates should be prepared to work on projects related to investigation and environmental remediation, and construction oversight/inspections at petroleum sites, petrochemical plants and product bulk storage terminals. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required. We offer a friendly, professional atmosphere with excellent benefits and a compensation commensurate with experience.

Position Requirements

• A positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Strong mechanical skills, such as experience with hand and power tools, mechanical equipment, plumbing or piping systems, equipment assembly and repair, or mechanical troubleshooting.
• Understanding of environmental and health & safety regulations and performing work in a compliant manner with the regulations and facility safety requirements.
• Willingness to support the project team to service clients and complete projects on time and on budget.
• Ability to perform physical labor including the ability to physically move around outdoors in various terrains, occasionally lift and carry objects and equipment, and climb ladders to access areas.
• Use of a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel between worksites (note: a company vehicle may be available for use).
• Field work year-round, most of which is outdoors.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with remediation systems.
• Experience with facility construction oversight and inspections.
• Familiarity with environmental equipment and sampling techniques.
• Valid OSHA 40 HAZWOPER Certification and 8-Hour Refresher course certification.

Note: Roux will provide training for new employees who do not already possess these certifications.
