Job Description

Waste Disposal Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Package expired chemicals for shipment or disposal.
• Empty satellite containers into bulk containers and return to laboratory for reuse.
• Maintain chemical storage area to keep it clutter‑free and free of fire hazards.
• Ship hazardous waste from the laboratory prior to the RCRA time limit for the facility.
• Track volume of waste generated for reporting to corporate and EPA.
• Prepare and track implementation of Waste Minimization Plan.
• Order and maintain chemical inventory for the laboratory.
• Manage consignment room to keep all laboratory areas supplied.
• Provide assistance to other departments/areas as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Professional Qualifications

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

Position Details

Position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with additional hours, as needed.
