Job summary

Holmes US is seeking a recent graduate or early-career Structural Designer to contribute to a diverse portfolio across concrete, steel, timber, and masonry. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, engage sites, and help implement seismic design in Seattle-area projects, gaining practical experience on full lifecycle projects.

This hybrid role offers mentorship, access to Holmes University training, and growth opportunities within a global firm.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Structural Engineering required; MS preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in structural design/analysis.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems across concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
• Work across project types including seismic retrofits, high-density residential, and civic projects.
• Apply seismic design principles in a dense urban environment.
• Visit sites and engage with the full lifecycle of a project.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers for your development.

• Design and analyse structural systems across concrete, steel, timber, and masonry on projects that genuinely challenge you
• Work across project types: seismic retrofits, high-density residential, custom homes, civic and commercial projects
• Apply seismic design principles in one of the most structurally demanding urban environments in the world
• Visit sites and engage with the full lifecycle of a project, not just the desk work
• Work directly alongside senior engineers and project managers who are invested in your development

You’ll Thrive Here If You Have:

Compensation

Estimated at $74,000 - $86,000 + biannual profit share bonus potential. Salary will be commensurate with experience / skills and location.
