Job summary

Wendel LLC is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our team across Rochester, Williamsville, Albany, or Middletown offices. This role offers mentorship from senior staff and exposure to a variety of projects in a collaborative, high-impact environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with a Structural focus, EIT certification, and up to 5 years of experience, with skills in RAM, REVIT, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
• Up to 5 years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of structural engineering software (Bentley RAM) and 3D modeling tools (REVIT, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis and design of components and systems (steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, wood).
• Develop gravity and lateral design loads per ASCE 7 and codes.
• Prepare structural calculations and drawings, details, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architecture, MEP, and civil disciplines; participate in design meetings.
• Perform construction administration tasks including shop drawing review and site observations.

Wendel is looking to hire an Entry Level Structural Engineerto work out of our Rochester (NY), Williamsville (NY), Albany (NY), or Middletown (CT) office. This is an incredible opportunity for a recent Structural Engineering graduate to be trained and mentor by our senior level staff! We are also open to hiring someone with a few years of working experience out of school.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the structural analysis and design of structural components and systems constructed of structural steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, and wood.
• Develop gravity and lateral design loads, including dead, live, snow, wind, seismic, and other applicable loads, in accordance with ASCE 7 and governing building codes.
• Develop structural calculations and analysis for structural building systems and foundations.
• Assist with the production of structural drawings, details, and specifications.
• Coordinate with other project disciplines, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil.
• Participate in design and coordination meetings
• Perform construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, site observations, and field investigations.
• Work directly with structural engineering staff, developing knowledge and expertise through offered mentorship.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required
• Up to 5 years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of structural engineering software (Bentley RAM products) 3D modeling software (REVIT and AutoCAD).

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000

Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
