Job summary

Centro Escolar University in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to design and analyze structural framing systems under supervision, perform calculations, and coordinate with disciplines to produce well-coordinated construction documents.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering, internship in building design, familiarity with BIM (Revit), and knowledge of IBC/ASCE7; EIT license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• EIT license preferred.
• Basic knowledge of BIM software (Autodesk Revit).
• Strong technical and analytical skills in steel and concrete design.
• Understanding of building code standards (IBC, ASCE7).

Responsibilities

• Formulate design and analysis of structural framing systems with direction and assistance.
• Perform necessary calculations related to structural design.
• Conduct field measuring and checking at construction sites to verify existing conditions.
• Prepare construction documents and coordinate with other disciplines to produce well-coordinated sets of documents.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for clash detection and load determination under supervision.
• Review shop-drawing submittals to ensure design intent is met.
• Maintain project files including calculations, correspondence, and reference materials.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
