Carolina Container LLC in High Point, NC is seeking an Entry Level Packaging Design Engineer to create innovative corrugated packaging solutions that meet customer requirements while enhancing manufacturing efficiency.

You will design packaging, produce drawings and prototypes using ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, Cape Pack or SolidWorks, and collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing and Graphic Design teams.

Competenze

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Technology, Graphic Communications, or a related field preferred.

Mansioni

• Design corrugated packaging, displays, and protective packaging solutions based on customer specifications and project requirements.
• Create structural drawings, layouts, and prototypes using packaging design software.
• Participate in customer visits with the Sales team to gather requirements, present design solutions, and provide technical support.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Graphic Design teams to develop packaging solutions that are functional, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
• Assist in producing samples, mockups, and prototypes for customer evaluation and testing.
• Review customer specifications, product dimensions, shipping requirements, and performance expectations to determine appropriate packaging designs.
• Support project management activities by maintaining accurate design documentation and project files.
• Participate in package testing and validation to ensure designs meet performance and quality standards.
• Assist with tooling quotes, troubleshooting packaging challenges and implementing design improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, materials, manufacturing processes, and packaging best practices.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

This role is responsible for creating innovative and cost-effective corrugated packaging solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting manufacturing efficiency and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, technically inclined, and eager to develop expertise in structural package design within the corrugated packaging industry.

Essential Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Technology, Graphic Communications, or a related field preferred.
• Internship, co-op, coursework, or hands-on experience in packaging, manufacturing, design, or engineering is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, Cape Pack, SolidWorks, or similar design platforms preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within the corrugated packaging industry.
