Job summary

Ohio State is seeking a Sterile Supply Technician 2 to join our hospital-based team. This entry-level position involves cleaning, inspecting, sorting and sterilizing surgical instruments, while supporting patient safety and efficient surgical procedures.

Under supervision of senior staff, you will perform decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping, tray preparation and storage tasks, with attention to established protocols and records. Background check and drug screen may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong customer service and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, sort and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Decontaminate reusable instruments and complete post-decontamination tasks.
• Assemble instrument sets and peel pack/wrap for sterilization.
• Prepare trays for sterilization and complete the sterilization process.
• Ensure proper storage and maintain eyewash stations and records.
