Job summary

A regional engineering firm based in Atlanta seeks a Construction Material Testing Technician to conduct laboratory and field inspections. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory analysis of soils, including Standard/Modified Proctors, Sieve Analyses, and Moisture Determinations.
• Perform in-place density testing of soils, aggregate, and asphalt.
• Conduct Reinforcing Steel Inspections.
• Assist with shallow foundation evaluations.
• Perform NPDES Inspections and Turbidity Analyses.

Overview

GeoWerks Engineering is a company focusing in Geotechnical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering. Established in 2007, and with a main office and laboratory in Alpharetta, GeoWerks has experienced much growth and is now expanding its service area from Metro Atlanta to locations throughout the southeast.

Position

We are currently looking for a Construction Material Testing Technician. The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of Civil Engineering, but experience is not necessary. Candidates with current ICC certifications in Structural Steel, Reinforced Concrete or NICET Certifications in similar fields are a plus. This position requires an individual who is very hard-working, prompt, responsible, and an efficient time manager, while also seeking to improve personal knowledge of the industry through continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory analysis of soils including, Standard/Modified Proctors, Sieve Analyses, Moisture Determinations
• In-place density testing of soils, aggregate and asphalt using multiple methods
• Reinforcing Steel Inspections
• Assisting with shallow foundation evaluations
• NPDES Inspections and Turbidity Analyses

Compensation and Schedule

We offer a competitive salary based upon hours worked and education/certification level. Hourly rates typically range from $15/hr to $22/hr. As this is outdoor work, the schedule is weather dependant and can vary. Management can be flexible with school schedules.
