Job summary

Certerra is hiring an Entry Level Staff Engineer in Flagstaff, AZ. This full-time position supports inspections and testing of construction materials with growth toward project management. The role involves field and lab work, report preparation, and collaboration with designers and clients.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. Familiarity with MS Office and the IBC inspection process is preferred; training may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with construction materials testing and field inspections preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications preferred.
• Experience with IBC Special Inspections preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/OneDrive) required.

Responsibilities

• Work with project designers and clients to ensure client specifications are followed.
• Knowledge of routine to complex inspections and testing of construction materials in the field.
• Prepare daily reports on observation activities.
• Perform geotechnical lab and field testing.
• Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with proposal scoping, estimating and preparation.
• Track project budgets and prepare invoicing.
