Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to support NASIC at Wright-Patterson AFB. You will develop and maintain multiple code repositories for data analysis tools used in intelligence production, with technologies spanning C++, Python, and TypeScript.

Responsibilities include enhancing code bases on Windows and Linux, participating in design reviews, and writing tests in a collaborative team environment. U.S. citizenship and Secret clearance eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/Math or related field.
• 0–3 years of software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.
• Knowledge of web/service-based design, programming, and requirements.
• Programming languages include C++, Python, and Go.
• Familiarity with Git repositories and version control.
• U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Overview

AV’s Specialized Exploitation & Targeting (SET) Department is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to support NASIC at Wright-Patterson AFB. You will write and maintain multiple source code repositories for data analysis tools to support the production of technical intelligence products for warfighters, senior decision-makers, and the Intelligence Community. Technologies used in this position can range from languages such as C++, Python, and TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain existing code bases for multiple applications and websites on both the Windows and Linux environments.
• Participating in software design meetings and reviews.
• Working with other software developers in a team environment.
• Implementing unit tests and participating in functional test plan execution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or a closely related technical field.
• 0-3 years of experience in software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.
• Knowledge in web/service-based design, programming, and requirements.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Python, and Go.
• Familiarity using Git to manage code repositories.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with test-driven development such as Agile and Scrum, and in full-cycle development.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Familiarity with document stores like Elasticsearch and SQL stores such as PostgreSQL.

The Salary Range For This Role Is

$68,000 - $119,000
