Shaw's Garage in Florham Park, NJ is seeking a full-time Entry-Level Snow Salter – Plow Tech to grow with us. Earn $16–$25/hour depending on experience, with health and life insurance, paid vacation/holidays, and employee discounts.

The schedule shifts seasonally to provide year-round stability. As an entry-level snow salter-plow tech, you’ll install plows and salters, service equipment, and perform general repairs on trucks and trailers.

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and service plows and salt spreaders.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install Fisher plows and salter spreaders; service equipment from brands like Western and Meyer.
• Inspect trucks, trailers, and electrical wiring; perform general repair work as needed.
• Assist with hydraulic dump inserts, lift gates, and related hardware; ensure safety.
• Pass background check and drug screening test.

THE INS AND OUTS OF BECOMING OUR ENTRY-LEVEL SNOW SALTER - PLOW TECH

THE SCHEDULE:

• Summer: 4-day workweek, Mon–Thurs (8 am–5 pm)
• Winter: 5-day workweek, Mon–Fri (8 am–5 pm), with some Saturdays and overtime

YOUR ROLE:

As an Entry-Level Snow Salter – Plow Tech, you'll dive into hands-on projects like installing Fisher plows and salter spreaders, servicing equipment from trusted brands like Western and Meyer, and making sure every truck and trailer is ready for action. One day you might be installing a hydraulic dump insert or lift gate, and the next you could be inspecting trailers, wiring lighting, adding hitches, or completing general repair work. No two days are the same, and your mechanical skills will directly impact the safety and success of our customers.

OUR REQUIREMENTS:

• Up to 2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and service plows and salt spreaders
• Familiarity with Fisher or Western equipment preferred
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Your own basic tools
• The physical ability to meet the demands of the role
• Bonus points if you have wiring or electrical knowledge (not required)
