Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham seeks a Sleep Technician to perform comprehensive sleep studies and related testing under supervision. You will prepare equipment, apply sensors, and help interpret sleep data under the guidance of a licensed polysomnographic technologist and medical director.

Role requires 1+ year of sleep lab experience or formal polysomnography training, BLS certification, and readiness to meet program requirements. Full-time AM shifts with competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• One or more years experience as Non-Registered Polysomnographic Technician or trainee level experience in a Sleep Laboratory.
• Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Polysomnography program completion or equivalent education is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physiological monitoring and testing for sleep-related disorders.
• Assist in clinical assessments and in scoring sleep/wake stages under supervision.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment, apply electrodes and sensors, fit PAP masks, and document sleep data.
