Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months related experience or training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of industrial painting, bodywork or willingness to learn.
• Ability to read basic work instructions, travelers and part tags.
• Ability to follow safety instructions, SDS guidance and PPE requirements.
• Ability to use common preparation tools and measuring devices after training.
• Ability to work in paint booths, shops or outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare metal surfaces by removing contaminants before coating.
• Perform basic cleaning, blasting, sanding, masking, and staging under guidance.
• Protect designated areas using tape, plugs, caps and coverings.
• Confirm part identity and stage parts to prevent contamination.
• Complete final preparation inspection for cleanliness and readiness.
• Hang/unhang parts for paint.
• Operate forklift or overhead crane to load/unload parts.
• Locate SDS/TDS info for PPE, hazards and safe handling.
• Perform other duties as assigned for safe department operation.
