Job summary

Pace seeks an Entry Level Scientist to join our Gas Chromatography group in the environmental testing laboratory in Westborough, MA. You’ll perform hands-on analysis, operate GC instruments, and help ensure data integrity.

The role supports the mission to protect health and environment, with training provided. A Bachelor's in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related STEM field is required, with willingness to work evenings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other STEM related degrees — or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Chemistry credit hours including labs required.
  • Prior experience/knowledge of Gas Chromatography (GC).

Responsibilities

  • Work with instruments such as GC and more.
  • Analyze environmental samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods looking for environmental contaminants.
  • Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis.
  • Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records.
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
