Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Material/Polymer Science or Related field or associate's degree in related field with analytical laboratory experience.
• Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and PPE guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical analysis and characterization of rubber compounds.
• Prepare samples from tires, milling, mixing and curing of mill sheet rubber, preparing solutions.
• Perform laboratory-scale mixing of rubber compounds using a Banbury mixer.
• Accurately weigh stage polymers, fillers, chemicals, oils, curatives, processing aids and other raw materials.
• Operate analytical instrumentation and physical testing equipment.
• Validate equipment operation, calibrate as needed, and support troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Record, review, and report laboratory test results accurately and timely.
• Enter and maintain laboratory data in databases, spreadsheets and/or LMS.
• Follow established laboratory procedures and proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
