Job summary

The Brunswick Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office is seeking to fill an Assistant Public Defender 1 position. The caseload will include cases in the Superior Court, Juvenile Court, and Drug Court throughout the Circuit.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university; license to practice law in the State of Georgia, or eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination followed by licensure within one year of hire or by reciprocity.
• The emphasis will be placed upon the candidates’ demonstrated commitment to indigent defense.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients.
• Perform beginning-level professional legal work and may assist in cases of routine complexity.
• Perform other related duties as required.
