Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Oakland is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to support routine engineering tasks under technical direction. You will assist with scope definition, cost estimates, procurement support, and design reviews to help deliver electric engineering projects in the Electric Operations group.

This hybrid role offers exposure to project management principles, field data analysis, and coordination with project teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of electric transmission lines.
• Familiarity with project management principles is preferred.
• Approximately 1 year of engineering/design experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist with or conduct project walkdowns to establish scope, schedule, and cost.
• Prepare cost estimates and procurement lists for materials.
• Review engineering documents and provide guidance to design/contractor teams.
• Support design reviews and ensure documents meet criteria and job scope.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to align project activities.
• Assist in scheduling and tracking project progress and forecasts.
• Provide construction support and help resolve field problems.
