Carlisle Construction Materials in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking an entry-level Helper to assist operators on the manufacturing line. This onsite role offers hands-on experience with coil loading, palletizing, packaging, quality checks, and safety compliance.

As a helper, you will operate a sit-down forklift, build pallets, read production orders, and keep work areas clean while striving to meet production goals. A high school diploma and willingness to learn are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift. Training and certification provided regardless of previous experience.
• Ability to read documents and interpret facts and draw conclusions.
• Understanding basic math, reading, and writing.
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists operators at the coil loading and packaging ends of the line and as needed.
• Build pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.
• Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, placing tags/labels on finished products.
• Perform quality checks to verify proper lengths, widths, and weights are adhered to using the proper tools.
• Detects and reports faulty operations or defective materials.
• Moves or carries parts, equipment, or materials.
• Read and understand production orders.
• Wraps and unwraps materials.
• Housekeeping of work areas.
• Operates a sit-down forklift.
• Achieves production goals while complying with all safety requirements.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
