Job description

BAGGER/STACKER

The Bagger/Stackers inspects the product coming off the printer for any issues and communicate with setups, printer operator(s) and others to maintain SQF, quality, safety, and productivity standards.

The Bagger/Stacker packages egg cartons with brand and customer details. The cartons are processed, counted, stacked, and packaged, then moved to storage or loading areas.

  • Stacker: Verifies quality and stacks cartons as they come off the printer and transfers them to the next stage.
  • Bagger: Places bags or creates bundles for packaging and transfers them for wrapping or storage.
  • Bagging: Bags cartons in plastic bags and stacks them on pallets.
  • Bundling: Assembles cartons into bundles, wraps them, and places them on pallets.

  • Production Supervisor
  • Alternative Report: Plant Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow all food safety, quality, and regulatory procedures to protect products and maintain compliance.
  • Participate in required food safety training and understand your role as outlined in the Organizational Chart communicated during training and posted in common areas.
  • Immediately report food safety concerns to management and take appropriate action within your scope to prevent or correct issues.
  • Secure Blank egg cartons in buggies and/or request blank wrapped bundle egg cartons.
  • Inspect and sample printed cartons to ensure meets quality standards.
  • Place bags over cartons and stack bagged cartons on a pallet or assemble and transfer bundles to wrapping machines and then onto pallet.
  • Monitor product quality and communicate and/or resolve any issues.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Manage scrap boxes by replacing empty ones and removing full ones.
  • Collaborate with printer operator, setup operator and others to achieve production goals.
  • Verifies order specifications

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Cleans work area and equipment
  • All other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Detail-oriented and consistent.
  • Collaborative team member.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Pushes material carts weighing up to 150 lbs.
  • Bend, stoop, and climb stairs as necessary
  • Move product - Lift, handle, and stack cartons and bundles that weigh up to 65 pounds with help.
  • Places and removes scrap boxes (weighing up to 15 lbs.).
  • Moves/carries pallets that weigh up to 40 pounds with help.
  • Repetitively reach arms above head stacking and bagging egg carton.
THERMOFORMER OPERATOR

The Thermoforming Operator inspects the product coming off the thermoformer for any issues and communicates with supervisor(s) and others to maintain SQF, quality, safety, and productivity standards.

The Thermoformer Operator is responsible for operating the thermoforming machine, loading material into the machine and adjusting machine settings to ensure quality production. Process involves operating thermoforming equipment, including roll unwind stations, heat ovens, product molds, and trim dies.

  • Production Supervisor
  • Alternative Report: Plant Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow all food safety, quality, and regulatory procedures to protect products and maintain compliance.
  • Participate in required food safety training and understand your role as outlined in the Organizational Chart communicated during training and posted in common areas.
  • Immediately report food safety concerns to management and take appropriate action within your scope to prevent or correct issues.
  • Maintain roll feed to ensure continuous production.
  • Monitor the thermoforming process to meet defined parameters and makes adjustments to correct out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Ensures product meets quality standard.
  • Collaborates with production supervisor(s), material handler(s) and others to achieve production goals.
  • Sample, measure, and assess product for quality specifications and communicate and/or resolve any issues.
  • Start, operate, and shut down the machine safely and efficiently as required.
  • Handle rolls of material and properly identify quality finished products.
  • Perform bagging and boxing of trays or cartons at the thermoformer.
    • Bagging:
      • Trays: Verifies production count. Bags trays in plastic bags, place in boxes, tape, and place box on pallet to be moved to storage or loading areas.
      • Cartons: Verifies production count. Bags cartons in plastic bags place on pallet to be moved to storage or loading areas.
    • Bundling: Assembles cartons or trays into bundles, wraps them, and places them on pallets to be moved to storage or loading areas.
    • Buggies: Assembles cartons into buggies to be moved to storage
  • Monitor and manage regrind station and change full regrind powder boxes.
  • Ensures safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Cleans work areas and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Understand thermoforming machine components and process conditions.
  • Identify and correct nonconforming material.
  • Interpret production samples and adjust machine settings accordingly.
  • Assess situations and safely shut down machine during emergencies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Pushing, pulling, and maneuvering materials weighing up to 200 lbs.
  • Building powder and scrap boxes.
  • Pushes material carts weighing up to 150 lbs.
  • Places and removes scrap boxes (weighing up to 15 lbs).
  • Work around high temperature ovens, heating elements and equipment up to 600 degrees. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Moves/carries pallets that weigh up to 40 pounds with help.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Work in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment with foam polystyrene products.
  • Air pressure and motor noise require hearing protection.
  • The equipment operates 24 hours per day for 7 days a week.
  • Operators are expected to perform their jobs with no additional assistance.
  • The company utilizes a flammable chemical during the production of foamed polystyrene. The company operates the facility under the guidelines of the Environmental Risk Management Program Level 3.
