Job summary

Southern States Co-Op in Georgia is seeking an entry-level Product Design Engineer I to learn and apply drafting and production processes under supervision. You will perform standard calculations, analyze data, and contribute to 3D CAD design work.

Responsibilities include drafting with AutoCAD/SolidWorks, creating 3D models and BOMs, and supporting manufacturing and field installs while developing skills per engineering procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects assigned or directed by more experienced Engineers.
• Design, draft and model using AutoCAD and Solidworks for existing and new products.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, Specifications and Bill of Materials.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and field installation.
• Develop engineering skills based on engineering procedure 230.50 Engineering Training.
• Create samples of working models for demonstration.
• Improve usability of new and existing products.
• Revises processes, documents and drawings through Value Improvement (VIP) Systems.
• Begin to perform tests in the engineering lab under supervision, learn ANSI Standards and how they relate to testing.
