Job summary

Fluid Quip Technologies, based in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking an entry-level Process Engineer 1 to support foundational process engineering activities from conception through detailed engineering, commissioning, and startup. You will contribute under the guidance of senior engineers to develop technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include learning FEL processes, preparing Design Basis reports and P&IDs, and assisting with plant optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Passing or working toward FE exam.
• 0–5 years of practical engineering experience, including internships.
• Basic knowledge of process engineering principles, mass and energy balances, and system/equipment sizing.

Responsibilities

• Supports foundational process engineering activities from conception through start-up under guidance.
• Creates design deliverables such as Design Basis, Mass & Energy Balances, P&IDs, and equipment layouts under supervision.
• Prepares client communications and presentations; explains technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Gains understanding of FEL stages, startup activities, and plant optimization opportunities.
