Mittera in Newton, IA is seeking entry-level Press Assistants to join our growing Press Department. You will stack and bundle printed products, assist on the web-fed offset press, and support in finishing operations.

This role offers on-the-job training with clear pathways to skilled positions. Strong teamwork, basic math, and the ability to read work instructions are valued in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing/office experience preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions and memos.
• Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to perform basic math for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to interpret written/oral instructions or diagrams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Be organized and able to plan with minimal supervision.
• Has basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Uniformly jog and hand-palletize printed products off the press equipment.
• Stage stacker equipment to meet current job requirements.
• Pack boxes according to load tickets and place them for shipping.
• Check printed product for quality defects.
• Assist press team during make-ready with cleaning tasks and setup.
• Keep press areas clean and stocked with supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
