Job summary

GEM in Virginia is looking for an Entry-Level Public Relations & Communications Assistant to gain hands-on experience in communications, public relations, event marketing, promotions, customer engagement, and brand development. No prior experience is necessary, as paid training and professional development are provided.

You will work with customers at live events, retail locations, and campaigns, representing brands and clients while learning marketing, communications, and sales skills.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; paid training provided.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Friendly, confident and professional demeanor for public interaction.
• Enjoys working with people and the public at live events.
• Motivated, dependable and eager to learn new skills.
• Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or events is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Represent brands and clients in a professional and engaging manner.
• Interact with customers at live events, promotions, and campaigns.
• Clearly communicate information about products, services and promotions.
• Assist with public relations, event marketing and brand promotion.
• Create positive customer interactions to support brand awareness.
• Help execute promotional campaigns and customer engagement activities.
• Assist with event setup, displays and on-site activities.
• Support community events and retail activations.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development.
• Collaborate with teammates to achieve campaign goals.
