Job summary

Bob Valenti Auto Group is seeking an entry-level automotive technician to join our service team in Connecticut. You will perform repairs and routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and communicate with customers and parts staff to ensure timely service.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to learn new repair techniques in a supportive shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Willingness to learn new technology, repair and service procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and diagnostics.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Document and perform work as outlined on repair orders following standards.
• Drain oil and replace filters, inspect fluid levels, and top up as needed.
• Check tire pressure and maintain proper inflation.
• Communicate with parts and service teams to obtain parts.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and maintain a clean workspace.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose systems using diagnostic tools.
• Repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical.
• Provide time estimates and communicate additional services to customers.
• Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Document and perform work as outlined on repair order following all dealership and factory standards
• Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil; replace oil and air filters
• Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary
• Check tire pressure and add air if needed
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Keep shop area neat and cleanMaintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
