Responsibilities
  1. Document and perform work as outlined on repair orders following all dealership and factory standards.
  2. Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil; replace oil and air filters.
  3. Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary.
  4. Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
  5. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  6. Keep shop area neat and clean.
  7. Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
  8. Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  9. Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and according to dealership standards.
  10. Test-drive vehicles and components using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  11. Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
  12. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional services needed.
  13. Provide estimates for repair times and costs.
  14. Execute repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
  • 1 or 2 ASE certifications preferred
  • School and/or life experience as a technician
  • Entry-level qualifications in Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair are a plus
  • Strong physical dexterity for working with tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive, friendly attitude with a customer service mentality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
