Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an entry-level Nuclear Security Officer to help maintain security at nuclear stations, control access, monitor security systems, and ensure NRC requirements are met. You will learn security tactics and procedures under guidance of experienced staff.

The role requires 0-2 years of related experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and may involve training in weapon safety and security procedures. This is an on-site position with travel and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years directly related experience.
• Basic knowledge of weaponry and the safe handling of firearms.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.
• Good attention to detail and ability to maintain a continued level of alertness in a variety of conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security at nuclear stations by controlling access, monitoring and testing security systems and ensuring NRC requirements are enforced.
• Operate, monitor and program electronic security and communications systems; respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Prepare required security reports and maintain security documentation.
• Coordinate communications with local fire, rescue and law enforcement agencies; patrol protected/vital areas.
