Job summary

Qualification requires a high school diploma or GED; no experience is required. Enrollment or recent graduation from a CAAHEP END program with BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recent graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited END program; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs electroneurodiagnostic studies according to written protocols.
• Explains procedures to patients and gathers medical history from patients and/or charts.
• Applies standard scalp electrodes using the 10/20 placement system.
• Adjusts test protocols based on patient history and study results.
• Identifies and corrects electrical and electronic malfunctions.
• Monitors and reviews raw study and video data during procedures.
• Prepares completed neurodiagnostic studies for interpretation.
• Edits and archives neurodiagnostic recordings.
• Competently performs routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Sets up and assists with specialized neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Ensures patient safety, maintains privacy, and follows infection control protocols.
