Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, TX seeks a Neurodiagnostic Tech I for the EMU, full-time 36 hours weekly, Fri–Sun. You will perform EEG, IONM, LTM, EP, and NCV studies per written protocols and prepare reports for interpretation.

Requires a high school diploma or GED; enrollment or recent graduation from a CAAHEP END program or equivalent; BLS certification. On-site patient care, equipment setup, safety and infection control are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Enrollment in or recent graduation from a CAAHEP END program or equivalent.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs electroneurodiagnostic studies per written protocols.
• Explains procedures to patients and collects medical history.
• Applies scalp electrodes using the 10/20 system.
• Adjusts protocols based on history and results.
• Identifies and corrects equipment malfunctions.
• Monitors and reviews raw data during procedures.
• Prepares studies for interpretation and reports preliminary impressions.
• Edits and archives recordings.
• Performs routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Sets up and assists with specialized neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Ensures patient safety and infection control.
