Job summary

Lake County Government in Illinois seeks an entry-level attorney for the Misdemeanor/Traffic Division. You will litigate in a high-volume courtroom, manage a misdemeanor and traffic caseload, negotiate cases, and handle motions and trials.

Prior experience is not required, and flexible scheduling with one remote day per week is available. JD required with Illinois license or 711-eligible status and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Licensed Illinois attorney or waiting bar results with active 711 license.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic and misdemeanor bench and jury trials.
• Run traffic court calls at off-site branch courts.
• Organize and prepare status and trial calls.
• Negotiate and evaluate misdemeanor cases.
• Interact with law enforcement, colleagues, and Judges.
