Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Metals Equipment Engineer to monitor wafer fabrication equipment, qualify new manufacturing tools, and coordinate downtime with production. You will analyze data with software tools to identify trends and adjust processes as needed in a fast-paced fab environment.

The role requires scripting experience (Python/VBA), statistical methods, and Lean/5S principles, with 24x7 shift support. Cleanroom PPE and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
• 3.0 GPA required for new grads.
• Experience scripting in Python or VBA and ability to analyze data using statistical methods.

Responsibilities

• Monitors wafer fabrication equipment and responds to issues.
• Qualifies new manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinates scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing.
• Uses software to analyze data, identify trends and decide on processing steps.
• Makes adjustments when parameters are exceeded and monitors parameters after maintenance.
• Executes in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicates technical information within the department via presentations.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
• Continuously revises SOPs.
• Develops improved processes to increase capability.
• Monitors operations costs and develops cost reduction projects.
