Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City, Arkansas is seeking an entry-level Mental Health Technician/Youth Care Worker to support patients daily, monitor behavior, and assist with daily living skills in a behavioral health setting.

The role offers a rotation schedule (4 days on, 2 days off) with day, evening, and overnight shifts; training for restraints is provided. The position emphasizes compassionate care and a safe, therapeutic environment for patients.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required; psychology or human services background preferred.
• At least 1 year of related experience in assisted living, residential, or hospital settings; psychiatric experience preferred.
• Full-time rotation: 4 days on, 2 days off; shifts 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• Must be physically capable of restraints (bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push/pull).

Responsibilities

• Care for patients by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them throughout the shift.
• Conduct direct observation rounds and document patient behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
• Orient patients to the unit and assist with daily living skills.
• Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.
• Provide restraint or intervention if needed; training will be provided.
