Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Tampa, FL, working Wednesday through Saturday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This entry-to-mid level technologist role offers comprehensive benefits and relocation consideration.

Pay starts at $30.00+ per hour with potential annual bonus opportunities based on performance. Candidates should have a BS in Medical Technology or related field, or equivalent certification, and at least 1 year of clinical experience in high complexity testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field is preferred.
• Alternative degrees include Chemistry or Biology with appropriate lab training.
• One year of clinical experience in high complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and record-keeping.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing specimens are tested like patient samples.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures and report results.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow policies when test systems aren’t within acceptable performance.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor.
