Job summary

Delta Screen & Filtration in Houston is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design mechanical components, create drawings in Inventor, and support BOMs and manufacturing documentation.

You will work with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and sales to develop practical solutions and gain hands‑on experience in product development, testing, and cost‑reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships and co‑op experience are welcome).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Create and revise engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Develop bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing drawings, engineering documentation, and support customer proposal development.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and assist in resolving production challenges.
  • Participate in product improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Assist with prototype development, testing, and product validation.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including stress analysis, load calculations, and material selection.
  • Review customer specifications and help develop customized engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate with purchasing regarding material specifications and vendor technical inquiries.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and revision control.
  • Follow all company safety policies, engineering standards, and best practices.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate or an engineer with up to two years of experience who is eager to build technical expertise while contributing to the design, manufacturing, and improvement of industry‑leading equipment. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and sales to develop practical engineering solutions that make an impact.

As an Entry‑Level Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing processes including welding, machining, forming, and fabrication
  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Liquid‑solid separation, filtration, or fluid handling systems
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in manufacturing areas.
