Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a contract-to-hire role in Milwaukee, WI. The position requires hands-on lab work, test setup, data collection and analysis, plus maintaining lab equipment and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will perform prototyping, material evaluations and performance tests to validate designs, while coordinating with the engineering team to ensure timely, accurate reporting and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Technical testing and data interpretation skills for prototyping and performance assessments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to timely, accurate work.
• Ability to manage lab operations including calibration and inventory control.
• Experience documenting test data and communicating findings to engineers.
• Problem solving for lab equipment and experimental setups.
• Maintenance and repair of lab equipment to ensure reliability.
• Knowledge of machine components and assembly processes.
• Wiring and assembling bench-top solutions from electrical schematics.
• Wiring production electrical control panels per schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative equipment maintenance and repairs of lab equipment.
• Assemble/wire experimental bench top solutions based on Electrical Schematics.
• Wire production electrical control panels based on Electrical Schematics.

• Oversee daily lab operations, including equipment calibration, inventory management and 6s standards

• Diagnose and resolve issues with lab equipment and experimental setups

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
