Job summary

Insight Global in Schenectady, NY seeks enthusiastic individuals growing within drafting and design to join their team. The role focuses on turning engineering input into quality 3D drawings, BOMs, and CAD models for large power plant components such as steam turbines and generators.

You will execute design details, issue drawings per processes, interface with drafting, engineering, and manufacturing, and help meet schedules while following GD&T and PLM workflows.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or 2 years' design/drafting experience.
• Experience with NX CAD or similar CAD platforms.
• Ability to work in a team through multiple design phases.
• Understanding of GD&T principles and drawing standards.
• Familiarity with BOM structures and production-ready designs.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D drawings, BOMs, and CAD models for large power plant components.
• Interface with drafting, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure producible designs.

Job description

Insight Global is seeking enthusiastic individuals interested in growing within drafting and design to join their team in Schenectady, NY. This role is responsible for taking engineering input to create quality, on-time, world-class models & drawings for large scale power plant components.

• Create and maintain 3D drawings, Bills of Materials, and CAD models/assemblies for large Power
• Generation Steam Turbine and/or Generator components.
• Self-sufficient in the following to enable design completion:
• Executing design details per standard practice and documentation
• Issuing drawings, models, and Bill of Materials per documented processes
• Interface with drafting, engineering, and manufacturing to create high quality producible designs.
• Help define/maintain and meet scheduled dates for design related activities and provide early
• communication to alert management of issues
• Understand and follow GD&T principles and drawing standards.
• Full knowledge of Bill of Material structures/principles.
• Proficient in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and change management
• methodology.

Qualifications:

• Technical Degree (Associates or Bachelors in Technology-related field).
• Or, if no technical degree, candidate should possess at least 2 years of relevant working
• experience in design/drafting field
• Understanding of NX CAD software, or other advanced CAD platform and modeling.
• Ability to work in a professional environment that focuses on teamwork during various design
• phases
• Strong passion for growing within drafting and design

Compensation:

$26/hr to $27/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
