Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I in Camden, AR to develop and improve manufacturing methods, analyze workflow, and determine equipment and process needs to meet product specifications.

Responsibilities include estimating production times and costs, communicating production schedules, and coordinating with vendors. A foundational engineering degree and up to 3 years of experience are required, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 0-3 years' experience.
• Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required.
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
• Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
• Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
