Job summary

Wegmans is seeking passionate people to join a dynamic retail environment and participate in a structured 6-month training program with mentor support. Successful completion leads to an interview for or placement as a Team Leader.

You will manage performance, provide training, deliver outstanding customer service, help solve operational challenges, and coordinate activities to keep the operation running smoothly.

Managerial/supervisory experience living our values and achieving results in our 5 measures; Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery, or retail setting; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, climbing, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. May be asked to work at cash register station (see Cashier). The average weight range of items lifted is 5-20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with occasional exposure to cold (33-55) temperatures near hot equipment (exceeds 135) and seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather. Basic tools and equipment used include computer and handheld telephone and may also include walkie reach/hi-lo, powered pallet jack, and scissors lift.
