White River Health System Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the facility’s operations in Batesville, AR. This entry-level role works under supervision to learn and perform a variety of maintenance tasks in a hospital setting.

The incumbent may advance after 6 months with demonstrated proficiency and boiler operator licensure, contributing to safe, reliable plant operations and patient care continuity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One-year experience in plant maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or related field.
• Arkansas State Boiler License.
• Any required Licenses or Certificate for specific trade or related fields.
• Good problem solving and negotiating skills.
• Verbal ability to communicate with staff, patients, guests and management.
• Ability to comprehend a wide range of subjects.
• Good organization skills.
• Ability to work from Arkansas Health Department, JACHO and OSHA standards and guidelines.
• Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean facility.
• Prioritizes and completes work orders.
• Operates steam boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, and related controls in the central plant and facility.
• Collaborates with Maintenance staff to complete jobs.
• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on hospital equipment.
• Performs security duties as needed.
• Receives supplies and documents deliveries.
• Handles tools and materials safely and maintains safety policies.
• Keeps knowledge of codes, regulations and changes; pursues continuing education as needed.
• Participates in fire and emergency drills and inservices.
