Morton Thomas, LLC (AMT) is hiring a Land Survey Field Technician to work at our Washington, DC office. No previous survey experience required; on-the-job training will be provided, with support from management to grow your career.

This is an entry-level role within a collaborative team focused on challenging projects in a professional environment. Responsibilities include operating survey instruments, GPS, data collectors, and basic field support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Certified Survey Technician, Associates Degree, or Bachelors in Land Surveying or GIS preferred.
• 0-1 years of experience; entry level position.
• Basic knowledge of field surveying procedures desired but not mandatory.
• Good interpersonal skills to interface with team members.
• Positive attitude and professional bearing.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and develop personally and professionally.
• Must be service oriented and excited to work in a team environment.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform field survey activities to support the survey crew chief.
• Operate survey instruments, levels, GPS, iPad, and data collector; entry-level training provided.
• Assist with manual labor: open utility manholes, set survey points, load stock in survey vehicle.
• Perform daily field survey activities as directed by the survey crew chief.
