Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in Prineville, OR is seeking an Analyst I to perform routine scientific tasks under close supervision in an accredited commercial laboratory.

You will follow SOPs, prepare samples and standards, operate instrumentation, document data, and assist with administrative duties while ensuring safety and quality standards. Qualifications

• High School Diploma; plus, two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Basic knowledge of principles, terminology, practices and instrumentation used in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle delicate laboratory equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow established SOPs and adhere to state, federal and accrediting body requirements to prepare and process samples and collect information for analyses.
• Prepare standards, solutions, reagents, media, and samples for analyses.
• Operate specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation to process and analyze samples.
• Perform equipment and instrumentation setup.
• Record observations and data accurately and interpret data at a basic level.
• Maintain logs, notebooks, and equipment records with integrity.
• Perform laboratory administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, data review, and data entry into LIMS.
• May perform duties of a Technical Manager or Study Manager as needed.
• Comply with Safety and Quality programs.
