Job summary

Wood + Water is a small, fast-moving kitchen and bath design studio in Raleigh, North Carolina. We are seeking a detail-oriented Kitchen & Bath Design Assistant to support custom cabinetry, remodeling, and interior design projects.

This entry-level role offers hands-on learning under the owner and senior designer, with opportunities to advance into a Junior Designer role as skills grow. Full-time, on-site, with competitive pay and a structured onboarding.

Qualifications

Zero to two years experience in kitchen and bath design or related field preferred.
An associate or bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, drafting, construction or related field preferred but not required.
Basic proficiency with 2020 Design is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate drawings, renderings, selections, and project documentation.
Strong understanding of kitchen and bath space planning, cabinetry, construction, or residential design principles, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Assist the senior designer with kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, and built-in projects from intake through design development and installation support.
Create and revise cabinetry layouts, floor plans, elevations, and renderings using 2020 Design under the senior designer.
Enter and organize field measurements, appliance specs, product information, and project details; confirm accuracy before final drawings or orders.
Prepare client materials, finish boards, samples, proposals, and presentation materials.
Participate in client meetings and jobsite visits to take notes and document requirements.
Maintain organized digital and physical project files and communicate clearly with the team.
