Job summary

Kokosing, a leading general contractor in Ohio, seeks an entry-level claims assistant in the Risk Department. You will support daily claims reporting, help resolve claims within thresholds, and generate regular reports in a dynamic construction environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in risk/claims or related fields, solid MS Office skills, and a detail-oriented mindset. This role offers development opportunities within Kokosing's risk management team.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of risk, claims, insurance, or business experience.
• Experience with claims handling is preferred.
• Background in insurance or business is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and record reported incidents and distribute appropriately
• Prepare claim releases, denials, etc. as appropriate
• Prepare and distribute weekly safety call agendas & scorecards
• Participate in Claim Reviews
• Assist with tracking and issuance of Certificates of Insurance
• File documents and information within SharePoint
• Prepare and track collection packets and submissions
• Gather information and respond to Ohio Court of Claims inquiries
• Verify and code insurance and claim related invoices
• Prepare check requests for submission to Accounts Payable
• Other tasks as assigned
