Job summary

McCrea Equipment Company, Inc. (MEC) is seeking an Engineering Assistant to support the engineering and design team with residential HVAC design, load calculations, permit documentation, and related tasks.

The role offers training and growth within the engineering and design function, with a Monday–Friday schedule in Temple Hills, MD. Strong analytical and communication skills are required, and familiarity with RightSoft is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical information and plans.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with HVAC software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Manual J residential heat load calculations and related HVAC design calculations; training provided.
• Create and update residential drawings using design software and input building/equipment parameters.
• Prepare information used by engineering team to size equipment and design ducts.
