Job summary

Langan is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join its collaborative team in Austin or Houston. This individual will support the planning and execution of field investigations, logging borings and test pits, and preparing logs and reports for large-scale projects.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, a minimum GPA of 3.0, and may hold an EIT; a strong emphasis on written and verbal communication and a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Eng is required.
• Master's degree in Geotechnical engineering is preferred.
• 0–2 years of work experience.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• EIT certification or FE registration preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to spend the majority of work hours in the field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute field investigations, including logging borings and test pits.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities.
• Monitor conformance with construction documents.
• Identify and solve routine and complex field/lab problems.
• Prepare logs, field forms, and chain of custody records.
• Conduct site reconnaissance and document searches.
• Communicate issues clearly to supervisor on projects.
