Schnabel Engineering seeks an entry-level Staff Geostructural Engineer in Rockville, MD. The role supports regional and national practice, combining soil mechanics with structural behavior to solve complex challenges. Expect field investigations, design documentation, and collaboration with a strong team.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited), 0–3 years of experience, and an EIT or plan to obtain it within 6 months. Travel and field work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0-3 years of professional experience.
• EIT certification or the ability to get one within 6 months of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical reporting.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel, including extended assignments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field investigations, including soil sampling and drilling.
• Soil and rock analysis with laboratory testing and data interpretation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions.
• Prepare design calculations and drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Observe field work and prepare daily reports, ensuring plans and specs are followed.
• Assist with reports and proposals.
