Job summary

A utility service provider in Mt Vernon, IL is seeking an entry-level Gas Locate Technician to locate underground utilities and promote damage prevention in the community. This role offers 100% paid training and a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour. Key responsibilities include using provided technology to locate utilities, documenting tickets, and effective communication. Candidates must be 18+, have a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license. A flexible schedule is required, as well as physical ability to walk and lift equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record is required.
• Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs or over 75 lbs with tool aids.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities using provided equipment.
• Document and process tickets via laptop.
• Respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call shifts.

Skills

Ability to problem solve with speed and accuracy

Effective communication with peers, managers, and homeowners

Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day
