Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Food Services Worker I to support daily food service operations at our facility in Dothan, AL. You will prepare, present, and serve meals while upholding food safety standards and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining portion control, storing items properly, and assisting in tray preparation and delivery. A food handler certification is required, and you will work in a team-focused, part-time role with day shifts.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in food preparation or food services.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Food Handler’s certification as applicable by local or state regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and weighing vegetables and fruits.
• Safely transports pans, kettles, and trays while following safety protocols.
• Stores food in designated areas with FIFO rotation and proper dating.
• Uses recipes and production standards to ensure quality, temperatures, and portions.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas in compliance with safety standards.
• Sets up and monitors serving line, records temperatures, and notifies if deviations occur.
• Serves hot and cold items from the serving line with professionalism.
• Stocks pantry items and refrigerators with correct inventory levels daily.
• Assists in meal tray preparation and delivery to designated areas as needed.
• Collaborates with team members to support efficient service operations.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
